STOKE ON TRENT CPD PROGRAMME

Cancellation Policy for 2006/2007

For the last few years, in an attempt to improve the efficiency of our course booking arrangements, we have introduced a cancellation policy.  Please note the cancellation charges for 2006/2007:

  • Early cancellation of a course place should be made via the course booking system or by email, telephone cancellations take up a lot of admin time.
  • If you cancel a course place more than 5 working days before the course start date, then you will not be charged.
  • If you cancel a course place within 5 working days of the course start date, then half the course fee will be charged. For uncharged courses an administration fee of £10 will be charged.
  • If you receive a booking confirmation for a charged course and you fail to attend without cancelling your place, then the full course fee will be charged.
  • If you receive a booking confirmation for an uncharged course and you fail to attend without cancelling your place, then a £10.00 fee will be charged.
  • If you attend a course without booking in advance through the SCORE system, then a £10 surcharge will be added to the course fee.
  • If a colleague is unable to attend the course through illness please contact a member of the administration team in the Advisory Service we will not charge you for the course.  If you do not contact us to advice of illness for a course that is charged, you will be charged the full cost of the course.  For uncharged courses you will be charged £10.

Cancellation charges will not apply to:

  • Last minute illness
  • Ofsted inspections with less than 5 days notice.

Please could you remind your colleagues to sign the course register, if they do not sign in we will assume that they have failed to attend and the charges will be raised accordingly.

We will also endeavour to give schools at least 5 days notice whenever it is necessity for us to cancel a course.  We will recompense schools with a free place at any course of equitable value.

By introducing the above charges, we hope to operate in a more efficient manner.  If course places are booked in advance and cancelled, when necessary, with sufficient notice, it is possible for us to:

  • Reallocate a course place if necessary
  • Avoid the booking of oversized more expensive rooms
  • Avoid the ordering of too many lunches and refreshments
  • Avoid the production of too many course materials

We hope that you appreciate the need to introduce these charges.  If we can keep unnecessary expenditure to a minimum, we are able to keep the cost of the courses as low as possible, so that you can continue to enjoy the benefits of our adviser’s guidance and experience.
